Getting a token of appreciation at the Filmfare Awards is not an easy task in the highly competitive Bollywood.

And once the lady luck smiles at someone during the Filmfare Awards, life in the Tinsel Town turns out to be different.

Experiencing this turn around of things is Purab Kohli, the video Jockey turned actor.

After Purab received the special jury certificate for his performance in ‘Rock On’, more recognition as well as interesting roles have started to pour in.

During the award ceremony when the nominations for the “best male actor in a supporting role” were let out, Purab got disappointed as his name was missing.

The “Killer drummer” of ‘Rock On’ says “ I think I did a reasonably decent job in ‘Rock On’ to at least get nominated at the awards. I was a bit disappointed with no nomination at the Filmfare. But the certificate that I got was a pleasant surprise. It is nice to know that the industry is paying attention”.

He also adds “More than anything else what really made me happy was the audience reaction there. I got the feeling like everyone there wanted me to win something”.

The film became a reason for Purab acquiring a new skill too.

He learned drums for his role in the film and is now able to experience the blood rush that one gets while playing live in front of a crowd.

For the time being Purab is having a great time with the occasional stage shows with Farhan Akhtar, Luke Kenny and Arjun Rammpal and the film shootings.

His forthcoming films are ‘Rectangular Love Story’, ‘Mok-tale’ and ‘Shaadi Of The Dead’
